The Academy has, with support from the Sponsor extensively reviewed its curriculum to ensure that all students are able to meet the new Progress 8 measures.  Progress 8 aims to capture the progress a pupil makes from the end of primary school to the end of secondary school.

Throughout the year our curriculum is enriched through Enrichment Days which allow opportunities for students to receive specialist information and experiences.

Government Assessment Reform

Due to the recent reforms in assessment at KS3 and KS4 student progress is assessed for almost all subjects in KS3 using the new Doddle platform. This allows students to be graded on the new 1 – 9 assessment system in Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9.

In Year 11 students will continue to be graded on the A*-G system, with the exception of Mathematics and English which will be graded on the 1-9 system.

Information regarding GCSE Reforms in KS4 from OFQUAL is available by clicking the link below.
