Last night saw the first of our Parental Engagement Forums and what a fantastic evening it was. We had about 35 parents and carers attend the event where Manor Croft staff explained a few key points about how we are moving the Academy forward including; quality assurance of teaching and processes around Behaviour, Attendance and Safety. Our Vice Principal, Mr Barnett also got the brain cells working as he talked families through the new Progress 8 measure that has been introduced by the government. There was a real 'buzz' in the room as people asked relevant questions and gave really helpful suggestions about how we can continue to improve the school. At the end there was a commitment from all that we would meet again each half term to look at key priorities for the school and parents.
Next time the meeting will be looking at the topic of 'Homework' including what this looks like and how we can use it to help students become genuinely independent learners. Everyone is welcome and the date will be announced next week... so watch this space!
It is this type of vibrant, open debate that will really help Manor Croft to continue to move forward, so thank you again to everyone who came last night and here's to many more.
