‘Split Second’ Brings Powerful Road Safety Message to Our School

On Thursday 9th October 2025, our Year 7 students took part in an engaging and thought‑provoking session led by the theatre‑in‑education programme Split Second, delivered as part of the West Yorkshire’s Vision Zero campaign.

The performance combined drama, real‑life scenarios, and interactive discussion to explore the impact of split-second decisions made by drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Through powerful storytelling and relatable characters, students were encouraged to consider how their actions — or inactions — can have lasting consequences for themselves and others.

After the performance, pupils took part in a Q&A session with the actors. This gave them the opportunity to reflect on what they had seen, ask questions, and discuss ways to make safer choices when travelling to, from, and around school.

We are very grateful to the West Yorkshire’s Vision Zero campaign and the Split  Second programme for delivering such a powerful and memorable experience. The session made a real impression on our Year 7 students, reminding everyone that even the smallest decision on the road can make a big difference.
