MCA Hosts a Memorable ‘Kumon Y’all’ Community Event as Part of Jo Cox Great Get Together

MCA was proud to host the annual ‘Kumon Y’all’ community event this week, celebrating unity and togetherness as part of the Jo Cox Foundation’s Great Get Together. The event brought together people from all walks of life for an evening filled with connection, competition, and community spirit. At the heart of the celebrations was a lively Boccia tournament, featuring teams made up of students, staff, and local residents.
The MCA student team gave a fantastic performance showing great teamwork, skill, and resilience throughout the tournament. But it was the MCA men’s staff team who stole the spotlight this year, lifting the trophy after a thrilling and hard-fought final. Their victory was cheered by all.

A huge thank you goes to Farooq and his team for their excellent organisation, special thanks also to Mrs Wheatley for her work coordinating with Farooq and helping to make the event such a success.
What truly stood out, though, was the spirit of unity. Families, neighbours, students, and staff came together not just to play and support the Boccia games but to connect with one another in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
The evening came to a perfect close with a delicious meal of curry and freshly made samosas, bringing everyone together one last time to share food, laughter, and good company.
MCA looks forward to continuing this fantastic tradition, keeping the spirit of togetherness alive for years to come.
