MCA Shakespeare Company
A selection of some of our school’s finest acting talent will take to the stage next week to present their version of “The Tempest” at the Leeds Playhouse, as part of the Coram Shakespeare School’s Festival. The students have been rehearsing for the past few months, working on bringing the magical world of Shakespeare to life. Not every student gets the opportunity to perform on a professional stage and we are certain that our students will shine bright during their professional theatre experience.
“Working with the students over the last few months has been an absolute joy. Students have taken on roles such as: Assistant Director, Lighting and Sound Technicians, Dancers and Actors. Starting slightly later than other schools, we needed to quickly get the ball rolling. With a cast that includes students from across all year groups; the group have successfully developed their own performance skills, their ability to collaborate with others and hopefully gained a love for the language and themes of Shakespearean literature. The dedication and commitment they have show towards learning such a difficult text is testimony to them as performers.” Mr Walker-Patel (Director), Miss Miller (Head of Performing Arts/Choreographer).
