STEM Trip

In the last week of term our STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) logo competition winners were taken to meet the design team and marketing company Engaging Education. Nazmeen, Lennon, Gemma and Gabija were our competition winners as judged by all the staff members. They were the lucky winners amongst an amazing array of entrants, well done to all those that entered. The trip was an opportunity for them to meet the designers that digitised their amazing entries. The company were really impressed at the creativity and skills behind the competition entries. They said the students did the hard part coming up with the designs and it made their job a lot easier in making them into digital format. Our students asked brilliant questions to the variety of people that worked at Engaging Education including a digital animator who went into great depth in demonstrating to the students how he makes animations and videos. The students enjoyed the trip, and the complementary drinks they were offered on arrival, giving them the taste of business life! Here’s what Nazmeen had to say about the trip, “I enjoyed that we got to see different people doing their jobs and how different things are designed by the graphic designers. It was exciting to see the designers making their products, rather than just being told what they do.” The STEM logo will be used for all future STEM events, trips, and competitions to signify to students that all these subjects are related. The logo will also be used to reward those students who have taken part in the variety of STEM clubs and competition this year and collecting the new STEMstar awards.
