Year 9 Kirklees Athletics Meet

On Tuesday, the Year 9 Athletics team spent the afternoon at Spenborough Athletics Track competing in the Kirklees Athletics Meet. The team was made up of 7 girls and 6 boys who competed against 24 other schools based in Kirklees. The team showed outstanding spirit and passion throughout the afternoon to claim an 11^th placed overall finish for the boys and a 16^th placed overall finish for the girls.

Notable performances came from Evie T on the track who completed the 1500 metres in 6 minutes 34 seconds for an overall 4^th placed finish, Connor W in the field who threw the shot putt 9.30 metres for an overall 5^th placed finish, Owen W on the track who ran the 300 metres in 40.6 seconds for an overall 1^st placed finish and  Uzair F in the field who threw the discus 20.16 metres for an overall 3^rd placed finish. 

Well done to the team for representing the Academy so well on the day and some outstanding results across the board!
