  • Quality in Careers Standard

    We are delighted to announce that Manor Croft Academy has been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard.  This is the National quality award for Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG).  It recognises the fact that as a school we are providing a high level careers experience for our students at all age groups.  The assessment process was rigorous, including the submission of a detailed portfolio of evidence followed by a day long inspection.  Recommendations and feedback was then sent to

  • Eid Celebrations

    Eid this year is predicted to fall on either Friday 15th June or Saturday 16th June.  If it falls on Friday 15th June, that day's absence for your child will be authorised.  If it falls on Saturday 16th June, your child will be expected to attend school the following Monday (18th June) as normal.  

  • Vicky Beer (RSC) Visits Manor Croft

    We were delighted to host Vicky Beer yesterday at Manor Croft Academy.  Vicky is the Regional Schools Commissioner for our area and wanted to see how Delta systems can impact on real change and outcomes for young people.  She spent the afternoon in the Academy and conducted a tour of lessons and observed our Year 11's in preparaton for their exams, she later tweeted 'fantastic examples of high expectations and trust commitment to improving outcomes' #inspiring.

  • Year 11 Reward Trip

    29th March 2018

    Mr Hewitt and the Year 11 team went on their reward trip just before Easter.  Over 110 students visited Xscape in Castleford to have a fun day out and relax just before their final push to the exams.  They enjoyed activities such as: ten pin bowling, laser zone, gravity and 4D golf, all rounded off with a nice lunch!  The students were fantastic on the day, now for the final push to their GCSE's!

  • Careers Week

    5th March 2018

    During careers week all students at Manor Croft will take part in activities designed to raise awareness of the range of job sectors out there.  This year we are particularly focused on the Yorkshire Region and the opportunities available in the local area.  We want students to think hard about their future and the type of job they might like to do. 

    Personal Progress Tutor sessions and assemblies will help ensure that careers are at the forefront of students' minds this week.

  • Ski Trip to Montgenevre

    27th February 2018

    This year's ski trip saw 43 students and 6 members of staff travel to Montgenevre in France.  Blessed with wonderful skiing conditions the students, a mixture of beginners, intermediates and advanced all made fabulous progress having the opportunity of not only skiing in the French area but also crossing over the boarder into Italy.  Two countries skiied in one trip! Evening entertainment included a ride on a skidoo up the mountain followed by hot chocolate and fresh crepes along with a trip to the spa and

  • MCA Celebrate Success

    Following the release of the secondary performance tables today, we are hugely excited and proud to share that the Academy are above national figures for both attainment and progress. We are also one of the most improved schools in the whole country.

    We are also now the third highest performing academy across the Delta Trust. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff and students at the academy.

  • Run, Hide, Tell.

    This week we are running assemblies on the governments drive to educate people on what to do in the rare event of a terrorist attack.  The campaign is called ‘Run, Hide, Tell’ and gives young people really good advice on how to respond if they are unfortunate enough to be caught up in a terrorist attack.

  • Careers Week

    This week was careers week at Manor Croft and every student in school was asked to consider what their future career paths might be.  Assemblies highlighted the importance of achieving the best GCSE grades in order to maintain the widest range of career options.  Personal Progress Tutor time was used to discuss different opportunities and think about the providers they wanted to speak to at Thursday’s careers fair.

  • Road Safety Assemblies

    14th November 2017

    The fire service were in school this week delivering hard hitting assemblies on road safety to students in Years 7 to 10.  They also carried out a demonstration on how they cut passengers out of a car that has been involved in a road traffic accident.

  • Ofsted praise for Manor Croft's Leadership

    MANOR Croft Academy has been judged ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding Leadership’ following their recent Ofsted inspection.

    Inspectors found that strong leadership has led to better teaching, much improved behaviour and higher achievement for pupils.

    Ofsted praised the principal and his leadership team, saying that “decisive actions have led to exceptionally
